1. Add Your First Slicer to Your Excel Pivot Table

I’m working in a pivot table here and I’ll add my first slicer. With the pivot table selected, find the Analyze tab and click on Insert Slicer. The menu that pops up will show each column of data in your spreadsheet.

2. Filter Your Data View Based on Your Selections

Let’s check a box on a couple of fields to create slicers from them. I’ll press OK now. Now you can see these boxes that we checked in these windows of their own. When I click on one of the options in these windows, it filters the data inside of my pivot table to my selection.

3. Stack Your Slicers to Narrow Your View Further

So if I click on only one client for example, the pivot table updates to match. I can further refine my selection in the other box by clicking on one of these options.

The slicers stack so each box that we choose narrows down the data further. I could also make multiple selections on my data by holding control on the keyboard and clicking on another option inside of a window.
