In the previous two tutorials in this series I’ve shown you some of the ways Keyboard Maestro can interact with files.
In the previous tutorial, I showed you basics of using BetterTouchTool Remote (BTT Remote) to control a Mac. It’s an iOS app that connects to one of my favourite Mac automation apps: BetterTouchTool. You get all the power of BetterTouchTool, but you can trigger it from an iOS device.
BetterTouchTool is one of the most useful macOS automation apps. While it’s not as powerful at pure automation as something like Keyboard Maestro, with BetterTouchTool you can control a Mac in many different ways.
I’ve written a lot about automation apps here at ThemeKeeper Tuts+. I’ve covered KeyboardMaestro, TextExpander and Hazel in multi-tutorial, deep dives and touched on other apps like Launchbar and BetterTouchTool.
While an iOS device isn’t as easy to automate as a Mac, with the right apps there’s still a lot you can do. One of the best iOS automation apps is Workflow, available for £2.99/$2.99 from the app store, which I’ll be exploring in depth over the next few tutorials.
